Julie Lynn Steuck
(October 5, 1962 - November 16, 2009)
Julie Lynn Steuck, 47, of Hartford died Monday, November 16, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 19, 2009 at East Side Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7:00 PM Wednesday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic. Burial will be in the Hartford Cemetery.
Julie Lynn was born October 5, 1962 to Henry and Linda (Boulais) Nieman at Clear Lake, South Dakota. The oldest of five children, Julie put her nurturing personality to work by helping "mother" her siblings. She had many fond memories of her time on the family farm in Clear Lake.
Her family was so proud of Julie when she graduated from South Dakota State University as a Register Nurse. Her compassion was evident as she worked the Clear Lake Hospital, Avera McKennan Hospital, the Children's Clinic and most recently at the Gastro Intestinal Clinic in Sioux Falls. Julie had a strong work ethic and was a wonderful mentor to those she worked with.
Central to Julie's life were her faith, her family, and her close friends. She was blessed with a big family, becoming mom to a daughter, two sons, and two stepsons. Julie loved nothing more than spending time with her family whether it was shopping with her daughter or watching sports with her sons.
Julie married Norm Steuck on September 27, 1997. Together they enjoyed football on Sundays, time with their dogs and an occasional ride on Norm's motorcycle. Their home quickly became a great place for family and friends to gather. Their most recent joy had become spending time with their grandson, T.J.
Julie is survived by her husband, Norm, Hartford; a daughter, Jessica Bekaert, Sioux Falls; two sons, Christopher and Patrick Leary, Hartford; two stepsons, Tyler (Krista) Steuck and their son T.J., Sioux Falls and Brandon Steuck, Hartford; her father and stepmother, Henry and Judi Nieman, Kranzburg; a sister, Bonnie (Steve) Tekonry, Clear Lake; two brothers, Cap Nieman, Lake Norden; and Rich (Michelle) Nieman, Sweet Springs, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda, her youngest brother, Gary and her husband, Jim Leary.
