Mary Katherine Crowley was born July 30, 1925 at Jackson, NE, the daughter of John Emmitt and Mary (Markusen) Crowley. She received her education in Davis. At a young age her mother died and she then made her home with her aunt, Anna Crowley, until her marriage. On Dec. 14, 1943 she was united in marriage to Frank Joseph Weisenbach in Sioux Falls. They farmed near Worthing for one year and then moved into Worthing where they lived the rest of their married life. Her husband died on Dec. 18, 1973. Mary had been a caregiver to many of her family and friends. In 1978 she moved to Lennox where she had since lived. She was a "mom" and "grandma" baby-sitter for many children over the years. Mary had been a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church in Worthing and transferred to St. Magdalen's Catholic Church in Lennox in 1978. She was a member of the Altar Society in Worthing and Lennox. In Lennox she because a member of the Catholic Daughters of St. Christina's Court. She also was a member of the Worthing American Legion Auxiliary and then the Lennox American Legion Auxiliary. She was a longtime volunteer at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center and remained a good friend to the staff and residents there. She loved dancing and playing cards. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson-in-law, Lavain Nordman, in 1998. Grateful for having shared her life are her children and their spouses: Joseph and Barb Weisenbach, Shirley and Duane Woods, and Sharen and Romy Ysbrand, all of Worthing;
ten grandchildren: Patty Seuntjens, Jim Woods, Sandy Elcock, MaryJo VanDenTop, Jackie Buskohl, Joanie Ysbrand, Shanna Sandidge, Ryan Weisenbach, Nick Weisenbach and
Tim Weisenbach; 20 great-grandchildren and three honorary "grandchildren" that she baby-sat for: Ryan
Pingrey, Ashley and Brittney Musch; plus many other relatives and a host of friends.
