Evelyn Cable, 74, Sioux Falls, S.D., died suddenly at her home on Saturday, May 10, 2008 having been in ill health for over 30 years. Evelyn Mary Haberman was born Feb. 27, 1934 near Slayton, the daughter of Constantine and Lucy (Ackerman) Haberman. She attended Fulda School through the ninth grade until the death of her mother. She then remained at home caring for and helping raise her siblings. She married Douglas Cable on Oct. 6, 1956 at Fulda. Following their marriage they lived in Slayton until 1964 when they moved to Sioux Falls. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary Post #628. She is survived by her husband, Douglas; her two children, Allan Cable and his special friend, Norma Lonehill, Rapid City, S.D. and Debra (Allen) Busmann, Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five siblings, Connie (Marilyn) Haberman, Sioux Falls; Berniece Clark and Ramona Grahm, both in California; Mary (Kearn) Ward, Forest Lake and Donna (Ron) Raatz, Pipestone; special friend, Dee Burgers, Sioux Falls.
