Albert Joseph Hagemeyer, son of Joe and Martha (Andreessen) Hagemeyer, was born July 4, 1923 at Tea, SD. He grew up and received his education in Tea and Lennox, SD. Albert served in the US Navy during WWII, where he served on submarines. Albert was united in marriage with Patty J. Eggers in Tea, SD on October 28, 1948. To this union, 5 children were born. They lived in Tea, and Albert was employed at John Morrell & Co. He retired in 1985 after 33 years of service. Albert also farmed and was a contractor in Tea, with his three sons and developed the Hagemeyer Addition in Tea. Albert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Tea American Legion Post #266, where he was a life member and Past Commander. He also served on the school board for six years and the church council.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Grateful for having shared his life is his wife, Patty; two daughters, Barbara (Richard) Anderson, Peoria, AZ, Carol Holiday, San Angelo, TX; three sons, Joseph Hagemeyer, Tea, James Hagemeyer, Sioux Falls, Jeffrey (Annette) Hagemeyer, Sioux Falls; two sisters, Hilda (Harley) Furrey, Tea, Margaret (Dwight) Buus, Tea; one brother, Henry (Darlene) Hagemeyer, Tea; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Albert was preceded in death by his parents.
