Harvey Joseph Bossman, son of Jerry H. and Effie (Nuttbrock) Bossman, was born August 3, 1913 on a farm near Lennox, SD. He grew up in the Lennox area and graduated from Lennox High School in 1931. He then farmed in the Tea-Lennox area. Harvey was united in marriage with Ethel Radloff on June 12, 1938 in Tea. The couple farmed near Tea. Harvey retired from farming in 1951 and began work for John Morrell and Company. The couple moved in to Tea from the farm in 1956. Harvey would live in that house for the next 50 years. He retired from Morrell's in the mid-1970's. Harvey was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Tea, where he sang in the choir for 55 years. He served as the caretaker for Tea Lutheran Cemetery for many years. Harvey was a founding member of the Tea Lions Club and also the Tea Senior Citizens where he served as president for a time. In addition, he served as the Tea policeman and on the Tea Volunteer Fire Department. Grateful for having shared his life are his son, Rev. Dennis Bossman and his wife, Beryl, Brandon, SD; five grandchildren, Edwin Bossman and his wife, Rhonda, Rapid City, SD, Kyla Mitcheltree, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Harlan Bossman and his wife, Gina, Brookings, SD, James Bossman, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Emily Bossman, Sioux Falls, SD; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Sylvia Wallenstein, Sioux Falls, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel, on February 13, 1994; a son, Kenneth and two children in infancy; his parents; and an infant brother, John.
