Darryl Halbritter Blackbull, Sioux Falls, SD, died July 4, 2008, at his home. He was 39.

Darryl Blackbull was born in Eagle Butte, SD, on June 20, 1969. At four weeks of age, he moved to Sioux Falls and became the foster son of Wes and Beverly Halbritter. Darryl soon became an integral part of the Halbritter family. He attended special education programs at Beadle School and South Sioux. Following his education, he moved to a group home with SD Achieve.

For many years he was involved with Special Olympics and especially loved cross country skiing. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed going to ballgames and sports activities of all kinds.

Grateful for having shared his life are his foster parents, Wesley and Beverly Halbritter, Sioux Falls, SD; foster brothers, Terry Halbritter (Kim), Bremerton, WA, David Halbritter (Sue), Sioux Falls, SD, Michael Halbritter, Sioux Falls, SD, Joel Halbritter (Cathy), Willmar, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, at First United Methodist Church, 401 S. Spring Avenue. Visitation begins at 10:00 am, Monday with family and friends gathering from 6:00 to 7:00 Monday evening at Miller Funeral Home, 13th and Main Avenue.
