Death Claims Mrs. Hans Anderson

Had Been A Resident Here For Fifty–two Years; Funeral Was Held Saturday

Mrs. Hans Anderson passed away Wednesday, October 26th, following a prolonged illness.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Dell Rapids, with the pastor, Rev. Richard O. Moberly officiating. With Mrs. P.F. Wagner as organist, Mrs. Edwin Olson and Mrs. Webster Drummond, Jr., san "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and Mrs. Olson sang "Going Home."

Honorary pall bearers were Fred Jorgenson, Frank Ginsbach, Greg Myers, B.A. Dieson, Jacob Wenge and Henry Snoozy. Active pall bearers, Nels Larson, Morris Knudson, Wm Woodhouse, Carl Staudenraus, Roy Gregg and J.D. Muller. Interment was in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.

Mary Jane Relf was born Oct. 1, 1877 at Emilene, Iowa. At death she had reached the age of 78 years.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Relf. When she was a small girl she moved to Lakeview, Iowa, with her parents. Here she attended school and grew to womanhood. She joined the Methodist Church in Lakeview and has retained her membership there.

February 9, 1898, she was married to Hans M. Anderson of Wall Lake, Iowa. In the spring of 4902 the family moved to their farm northeast of Dell Rapids.

She is survived by her five children: Harlan, Vernon and Alvin of Dell Rapids, Anna (Mrs. Chris Nielsen) of Baltic and Vera (Mrs. Charles Snoozy) of Trent; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and one brother, A.E. Relf of Los Angeles, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, in December 1951, and an infant daughter, her parents and a sister.

Mrs. Anderson was a splendid and loving wife and mother and had acquired a host of steadfast friends in the community where she lived so long, who will miss her greatly.
