Erma Ella Emma Feuerbach was born on Dec. 17, 1914, to Herman and Mary Feuerbach, in Colman, SD. She grew up in Colman and attended school in Colman and Flandreau. Erma married Frank Gednalske on March 21, 1932, in Pipestone, Minn. They lived in Dell Rapids, SD most of their married life. Mr. Gednalske died in 1976,
Erma worked in the dietary department of the Terrace Manor Nursing Home, IOOF Home and the Dell Rapids Hospital over the years. She retired from the Dell Rapids Community Hospital in December of 1991.
Erma was a member of the Lutheran Church in Dell Rapids, the Dell Rapids Rebekah Lodge # 21, where she had received the Decoration of Chivalry, and the Dell Rapids Bowling Association, where she served as secretary for 14 years. She was elected to the South Dakota Bowling Hall of Fame on April 5, 1986.
Erma died on Saturday Sept. 16, 2000 at the Dell Rapids Area Health care Center. She was preceded in Death by her husband, Frank; her daughter, Jackie two granddaughters and two brothers.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Bermae and her husband, Donald Linderman, Spirit Lake, Idaho; her two sons, Rodrick and his wife, Connie, CoeurD'Alene, Idaho, an Kyle of Nenana, Alaska; and her
13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2000 at the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids, with Pastor Mark Jensen and Pastor Mark Docken officiating. Interment was held at the Dell Rapids Cemetery.
Casketbearers included Scott Gednalske, Keith Gednalske, Dean Feyereisen and Dan Tripp.
