Anton Anderson Died Monday; April 7

Last Rites Being Performed at Willow Creek Church This Afternoon

Dell Rapids community suffered the loss of another fine citizen in the death of Anton Anderson on Monday, April 7 at the age of 61 years.

Mr. Anderson was born January 17, 1891 in Dinstad, Denmark, and came to this country with his parents when he was 12 years of age. The family made their home near Atlantic, Iowa, until 1915 when they moved to the present home-site seven miles west of Dell Rapids.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.

On November 30, 1917, he took as his bride Petrea Bundgaard, and together they created on of the happy and hospitable homes of the community during the past 34 years. Two daughters were born to this union, one of whom died in infancy; and Delaine Delphine, Nettleton College student, who with his wife, survive him. One brother of Clear Lake, Ia, constitutes the remainder of the immediate family.

Anton was ever a friend in deed to al who knew him, and was the first to offer help when illness or trouble came to his friends and neighbors. Although born in a foreign land, he was a true American citizen. He served as clerk of the school board of his district for 29 years, and also as township clerk for many years, and will be greatly missed by friends, neighbors and associates.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 10, (this afternoon) at 1:30 P.M. at the home and at 2 o'clock at Willow Creek Lutheran Church. Rev. Ole M. Odland will officiate. Burial will be made in the family lot in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.
