The Schmidts had 10 children: Bertha (Budde), Gustav (Ottilie Voight), Emma (Hebner), Amelia (Budde), Rosa (Alex Hubner), Minnie (Engel), William (Edna Johnson), Mary (Wepking), Anna (died when infant), and Ida (Buchholz). Wilhelmina/Minnie was born on June 28, 1855, in Mandelkow, Germany, and died in Avon, South Dakota, on October 12, 1940.
