Donna J. Beuckens age 89, died Saturday June 17, 2023, at Dougherty Hospice House, with her family at her side. Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 PM Friday June 23, 2023 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Sioux Falls Humane Society.
Donna J. Webb, daughter of Henry E. and Amanda E. (Nelson) Webb, was born July 28, 1933 in Watertown, SD. She grew up and graduated from high school there in 1951. Donna then moved to Sioux Falls, SD and began working at Midwest Oil. While working at Midwest Oil, she met and later married Ted Beuckens on October 25, 1952 in Sioux Falls. The family then settled in Sioux Falls where their first child Julianne was born.
She then worked for Nash Finch for 8 years. After her son Kevin was born, Donna was a stay-at-home mom for a period of time before going to work at the Mutual of Omaha office. After 9 years with Mutual of Omaha, Donna began working for Vail & Anderson Attorneys for 2 years, and then 26 years at the Christopherson, Bailin and Anderson Firm. She retired in 2000. Ted preceded her in death on January 21, 2006.
Donna was a long-time member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, a member of the church circle and choir, and the Sons of Norway. She also was active with the Nordland Fest and Women’s History Club. She will be fondly remembered for her love of animals, ice cream and a good cup of coffee.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Julie (Richard) Hinrichs, Sioux Falls, SD, Kevin (Julie) Beuckens, Sioux Falls; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son Jeffrey; and two grandchildren Christopher and Jennifer Sampson, and her brother Robert Webb.
