David A. Schoenrogge
March 23, 1963 - April 28, 2023
David A. Schoenrogge, age 60, of Sioux Falls, SD died unexpectedly at his home with his wife at his side. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls, with Rev. Sara Nelson officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, May 1, 2023 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls.
David Arthur Schoenrogge, the son of Robert and Sharon (Mette) Schoenrogge was born on March 23, 1963 in Huron, SD. He grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Lincoln Senior High School. Following high school he attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD, graduating with a degree in business administration. He worked for Becton, Dickinson and Company in Nebraska for several years. David later retired from Cigna Specialty Pharmacy in Sioux Falls where he had been employed for 13 years.
David married Valerie Baldwin on June, 16, 2001 at First United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls. David’s hobbies included playing tennis with his nieces, cross country skiing, and sailing at Lewis and Clark Lake. A memory which David would often talk about was when he would take his grandmother to a Minnesota Twins game where they would enjoy a cold beer.
David and Val loved to travel, particularly to South Padre Island, Texas and Hawaii. David liked playing chess and cheering on the Minnesota Twins and the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team. He and Val loved attending concerts and listening to their favorite music by The Eagles, U2, Fleetwood Mac, and Journey. He enjoyed hunting ducks, pheasants, and especially deer hunting with his cousin Marty Herll.
David was a socially active person who loved his family. He enjoyed being involved in his nieces and nephews lives and had a great sense of humor while making everyone laugh.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Valerie of Sioux Falls, SD, sisters Linda (William) Meier of St. Cloud, MN and Susan (Timothy) Long of Larchwood, IA; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who were all very important to David; his best friend of over 40 years, Glenn Bueber of Tripp, SD, who was like a brother.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sharon Schoenrogge.
