Simone Lembcke
June 19, 1943 - May 13, 2020
Simone K. Lembcke, 76, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, after a brief battle with cancer. Private family services will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 18 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls.
Simone Kay Jensen, daughter of Morris Jensen and Annes (Steinberg) Jensen Weber, was born June 19, 1943 in Madison, SD.
Simone grew up on a farm near Oldham, SD, graduated from Oldham High School, and then attended nursing school in Sioux Falls, SD. Simone was united in marriage with Ronald E. Lembcke on January 26, 1962 in Ramona, SD. Simone was a nurses’ aide prior to becoming a homemaker and stay-at-home mom to three daughters. She subsequently worked in retail for many years. Simone also cared for all three of her grandchildren before they began school.
Simone enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, reading, all genres of music, concerts, baking, cooking, hosting holidays and parties, attending all of her family events, crossword puzzles, and playing cards. She was an animal lover that rode horses as a child. She had several cats and dogs throughout her life, and for the past 12 years enjoyed constant companionship from Gemma, her beloved Golden Retriever. She was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church and served as a Sunday school teacher and on various committees.
Simone was a hard-working, selfless, loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put others before herself. She was a best friend to her three daughters and her kind, positive, supportive, youthful and fun spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Grateful for having shared her life are three daughters, Terri Schildhauer and her husband, Steve, Toni Lembcke and Dean Theisen, Traci Swanson and her husband, Shawn, all of Sioux Falls, SD; three grandchildren, Jack Lembcke, Kathryn Lembcke, and Samuel Swanson, all of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters, Judy Damaschke and Sonja Peterchak and two brothers, Jim Weber and Dale Weber and his wife, Karen, all of Wisconsin; a niece, Nicole Pullman, her husband, Jeremy and their children, Logan, Aynsley and Easton of Crooks, SD; a nephew, Eric Petersen, his wife, DeeDee and their son, James of Box Elder, SD; and many other relatives and friends.
Simone was preceded in death by her husband, Ron, in 2018; her parents, Morris Jensen and Annes (Steinberg) Jensen Weber; her mother-in-law, Mildred (Conn) Leonard; a sister-in-law, Bev Petersen; and three brothers-in-law, Kent Petersen, Ken Damaschke and Joe Peterchak.
