Jerome "Jerry" H. Michael
November 19, 1933 - March 1, 2023
Jerry Michael, of Sioux Falls, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home on March 1, 2023. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Thursday, March 9th at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Ave. Funeral to be held at 11am on Friday, March 10th at First Baptist Church followed by luncheon and burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church.
Beloved by his family, Jerry was a man of faith who loved the Lord, his family, church and community. Born on November 19, 1933 in Sioux Falls, SD to Henry Franklin Michael and Bernice Constance (Bakke) Michael, Jerry attended Longfellow School and graduated from Washington High School in 1953.
After graduating from the Christians Workers Institute in 1956, he enjoyed a 30-year career in sales. One of his great joys was flying his Beechcraft Bonanza. He will be remembered as a master of all trades who built his own house and was happiest helping others. Jerry and Donna lived in Sioux Falls and enjoyed summers at their cabin on Lake Shetek.
Grateful for sharing his life is his wife of 44 years, Donna of Sioux Falls, SD; children Mary Schneekloth (Terry) of Scottsdale, AZ, and Tom Michael of Sioux Falls, SD, from a previous marriage; stepchildren Chad Liedtke (fiancé Jackie) of Nunda, SD, and Dan (Michelle) Liedtke of Gulfport, FL; nine grandchildren Marissa Michael, Michael Schneekloth, Abby (Fede) Wettstein, Andrew Schneekloth, Hailey (Austin) Jordan, Cori (Matt) Lillia, Preston, Sydney, and Perri Liedtke; and three great-grandchildren.
Jerry is preceded in death by parents Harry and Bernice Michael and sister Marlene Urban.
