Geraldine "Gerry" Pack
March 13, 1942 - March 9, 2023
Geraldine “Gerry” Pack, 80, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away peacefully with her husband, Al, by her side on Thursday, March 9, 2023. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls.
Gerry Pack was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who devoted her life to her family.
She was born on March 13, 1942, in McIntosh, SD, to Julia and Robert Warren. She had 6 siblings, Sharon, Paulette, Sandy, Guy, Charlie, and Penny. Gerry graduated from McIntosh High School in 1960 and married Alfred Keith Pack on Dec 23, 1961. Gerry, Al and family lived in almost a dozen states, plus the Philippines, Azores, and Turkey during Al’s 21 year military career. In 1981, they settled in Sioux Falls, SD. Gerry worked as a bookkeeper at the Stockyards and later at Sioux Vocational Services.
She enjoyed playing bridge, fishing, camping, reading and visiting friends and family. She also volunteered for the Children’s Inn Teddy Bear Picnic fundraiser for many years. Upon Gerry’s retirement in 2002, Gerry and Al became snowbirds; spending their winters in Brownsville TX.
Sadly, Gerry was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in January, 2016. She peacefully passed away on March 9th, 2023, with Al holding her hand.
Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, Julia and Robert Warren, her sisters Sharon, Paulette and Sandy, and her brother Guy.
Gerry is survived by her husband, Al; her children, Kevin Pack (Marcia), Tonya Lambertz, and James Pack; brother, Charlie Warren; sister, Penny Burke; her grandchildren, Justin Pack, Ben Lambertz, Ashley Robinson (Matt), Lindsey Pack (Nick Fetzner), Alex Pack, and six great grandchildren.
She will be missed greatly.
