Ronald Allen Kolar
August 16, 1957 - December 2, 2021
Ronald Allen Kolar, 64, passed away December 2, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Ronald Allen Kolar was born August 16, 1957 in Tracy, MN to Robert and Geneva (Nissel) Kolar. He grew up and attended school in Walnut Grove, MN and graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1976.
Ron was united in marriage with Cindy Meling on April 26, 1980 in Revere, MN. Ron followed his father’s footsteps and worked as a welder- learning while still in High School and continuing that career at Woods DuAL Manufacturing in Sioux Falls, SD until the company closed September 2017. He then worked as a forklift driver for Winn Chill and Scott's Lumber in Sioux Falls, SD. He was proud to tell you about all the hours he was able to work even while going through Cancer Treatment.
Ron loved to play softball, go deer hunting, camping, spending time with family, grandchildren and his beloved Dachshunds, Aspen, Boulder and Jack.
He was involved with Men Moving in Faith at Sunnycrest Methodist Church. He drove the residents of Sunnycrest Village to and from Church. He was proud of being a part of Dakota Dachshund Rescue. Ron and Cindy helped many foster dogs that came in and out of their home on the dog’s journey to finding their forever home.
Ron was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Golden Gophers and the Twins.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy; children, Brady (Julie Olson) Kolar and Austin (Devin) Kolar; five grandchildren, Treyten, Brysen, Janessa, Jameson and Keira Kolar; mother, Geneva Kolar, Walnut Grove, MN; siblings, Rocky (Karen) Kolar, Westbrook, MN, Robert (Dawn) Kolar, Bismarck, ND, Twyla (Michele) Cady, Montrose, MN, Mary (Blaine) Corlett, Harrisburg, SD, Jon (Patty) Kolar, Tracy, MN, Lynae Bakken, Walnut Grove, MN, Gene (Missy) Kolar, Sergeant Bluff, IA; 9 nieces and 15 nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Robert Kolar; sister, Cindy Kolar; grandparents, Charlie and Mrytle Kolar, Walter and Veronica Nissel.
A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 am Monday, December 6, 2021 at Sunnycrest United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00pm Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Sunnycrest United Methodist Church with family present to greet friends. www.heritagesfsd.com
