Mrs. Frank Strub, 73, passed away at the Dell Rapids Hospital, Thursday March 11th, following an illness of three weeks. Funeral services were held in St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 10 o’clock Saturday morning. Rev. Father Brosnan officiating. Burial was in Dell Rapids Catholic Cemetery.
Wilhelmina Beck was born September 10, 1874, in Plymouth County, Iowa. She was married on April 17, 1899 to Frank Strub in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Le Mars, Iowa.
They farmed near Remsen, Iowa, later moving to Le Mars where they farmed until 1921, when they moved to a farm near Dell Rapids. In 1933 they moved to Dell Rapids where they have since resided.
To this union three children were born; Mrs. Arnold Setzmann (Olive), Henton, Iowa, Brill Strub and Mrs. Maynard Wuerth (Elsie) of Dell Rapids.
Survivors besides the widower and the children are eight sisters, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Those attended the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Setzmann and family from Henton, Iowa, Rev. Bernard Kocher, Hinton, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Don Setzmann and Dean Engle of Kingsley, Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Thill and family, Brookings, S.D.; Mrs. Max Cradit, Mrs. Lena Kraus, Joe and George Kraus, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kraus, Mrs. W.P. Justman, Mrs. Ted Wiebersch all of Le Mars, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Middaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Polaschak and son of Worthington, Minn., Frank Braband and family from Elgin, Nebr., and Mrs. Vern Appleton of Rapid City.
Pallbearers were John Fiegen, Arleigh Johnson, Albert Huewe, Henry Mairose, Web Drummond, Sr., and Ed LeBrun.
