Viola Ross
January 29, 1942 - July 1, 2021
Viola Ross was granted her angel wings on July 1, 2021. Her final days were spent surrounded by her beloved family and friends.
Viola Marie Moulton was born January 29, 1942 in Elkton, SD to Leland and Marie (Mayer) Moulton. She married James D. Ross on January 7, 1961 in Pipestone, MN. They made their home in Sioux Falls where they raised their family.
Jim and Vi enjoyed camping with family and friends and also spending time at their cabin at Lake Madison.
Vi coached and played softball for Moose Lodge for several years. Vi was a very smart and driven businesswoman. She co-owned and operated the Flower Box for many years. Vi loved traveling with her husband and close friends to Jamaica, Mexico, Las Vegas and other destinations.
Vi’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Grateful for having shared her life are: her husband, Jim; their, son, Jim (Mel) Ross; their daughters, Jodie Haack and Jami (Terry) Newberg; her grandchildren, Rachel Worley, Tasha (Shannon) Perry, Lindsey (Dan) Purcelley, Jason (Kayla) Haack, Sarah Peterson, Shane (Elizabeth) Thomas, Skylar (Marisa) Newberg; ; her siblings, Kenneth (June) Moulton, Melvin (Susan) Moulton, Robert (Connie) Moulton, Raymond (Eddie) Moulton, Delmar (Lynn) Moulton, Linda (Jeff) Jackels, David (Deb) Moulton and sisters-in-law, Janice Moulton, Linda Moulton, Gloria Moulton and Lola Moulton; her special friend and caregiver, Klinton Finley and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law, Kim Ross, her brothers, Al, Dwane, Pete and Loren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Heritage Funeral Home. Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
