Jack Dale Phillippe, 81, a kind, handsome, hardworking, successful, funny, intelligent man, passed away peacefully at his home after battling many health issues on Saturday, August 15, 2015 surrounded by his family.

We are so thankful for the gift we had in Jack and we are so very, very sad to say goodbye. He was a much loved husband, father, Papa, brother and friend. We, as his family, are forever grateful for having been blessed with him.

Family present Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 18, at Miller Funeral Home-Downtown, 507 S. Main Ave. with Public Masonic Service to be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, August 19, at First Lutheran Church, 327 S. Dakota Ave.

Jack Dale Phillippe, son of Joe and Emily (Turner) Phillippe, was born July 26, 1934 in Valley City, ND. Jack grew up in Minot, ND where he attended Minot High School graduating in 1953, and Minot State College. He was united in marriage with Jean Mack on October 17, 1956 at Minot, ND.

Jack worked for American Family Insurance for 40 years as a District Sales Manager, and was recognized in the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments with the company. He belonged to many professional organizations with American Family Insurance. He was a member of the Trinity Lodge #200 A.F. & A.M, El Riad Shrine where he was a longtime member of the Fife & Drum Corps, Royal Order of Jesters where he served as director for one year, member of the Circus committee-serving as Circus Chairman for two years, member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed his morning Coffee Club. Jack had a zest for living and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting with his black lab, fishing and golfing. But most of all, he loved his family with a passion. Jack would always say how blessed he was to have such a close and loving family.

He was married to Jean for almost 59 years and blessed with four daughters; Renee' (Brian) Grogan, Sioux Falls, SD, Shelly (Don) Pierson, Sioux Falls, SD, Jackie (Brent) Friesth, Louisville, CO, and Jennifer (Dan) Flohrs, Boulder, CO; grandchildren; Colin Grogan, Kyle (Maddy) Grogan, Ryan Grogan, Tyler (Angie) Pierson, Emilee' Pierson, Jackson Friesth, Taylor Friesth, Jack Flohrs, Frances Jean Flohrs; great grandchildren; Jaycee and Wyatt Jack Pierson; siblings, Norma (Dick) Bock, Littleton, CO, Betty Wendschlag, Minot, ND, and Jerry (Marilyn) Phillippe, Denver, CO.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Emily Phillippe; and two sisters, Pat Glasoe and Virginia Eide.
