Richard "Rick" Snyders
July 03, 1956 - January 17, 2021
Richard “Rick” Snyders, 64, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2021, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m., until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sioux Falls with full military honors. The family strongly encourages all attendees to wear a mask.
Richard Snyders, son of Robert and Patricia (Carpenter) Snyders was born July 3, 1956, in Luverne, Minnesota. He graduated from Canton High School in 1974. He served in the United States Air Force as a crew chief for the B52 Bombers. On September 25, 1976, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Lori Everhart. They were blessed with two sons: Ryan and Tyler. Rick had a love for cars that extended from his work to personal time. He loved restoring old cars and was especially proud of his ’65 Chevelle. Rick dedicated 30 years of service to Schulte Chevrolet and Billion Automotive before health issues guided him to a new career. He returned to Colorado Tech and earned his business degree. This has allowed him to work for the benefit of his fellow veterans at the Berakhah House in Sioux Falls with the Volunteers of America, Dakotas. When the boys were growing up, he volunteered with their Boy Scout Troop. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching Twins and Vikings games on TV. He used to be an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting deer and pheasants his entire life.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lori of Sioux Falls; son, Ryan (Kaylee Ram) Snyders of Sioux Falls; mother, Pat Snyders of Sioux Falls; siblings, Lisa Snyders of Sioux Falls, Scott Snyders of Wheat Ridge, CO, and Holly (Steve Fisher) James of Sioux Falls; sister-in-law, Deb Snyders of Luverne, MN; Lori’s family, Rick’s nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; son, Tyler in 2014; brother, Greg; father-in-law, Lee Everhart; and Rick’s Dachschund, Charley
