Donnell M. Rosenberg
April 22, 1927 - November 27, 2018
A celebration of life service for Donnell M. Rosenberg will be held 1:30pm Friday, November 30, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 401 S. Spring Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will be at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm with family present.
Don was born April 22, 1927 in Nobles County, MN to parents Frederick E. and Della Bush Rosenberg. He passed into eternity November 27, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Home, Sioux Falls.
After graduating from high school from Magnolia, MN Don continued working with his father farming and had a custom baling business.
In July 1956, Joyce McCain became Don’s bride and they resided in Adrian, MN where Sharon Lynne and Michele Denise completed their family.
Don was an outgoing man and held positions with Safeway Stores Egg Division, Farmland Industries, Sunshine Food Markets and Hegg Property Management.
Don was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church. He took leadership positions in Methodist Men group and Men’s Breakfast and prayer groups at the church. He was instrumental in helping the First United Methodist Church Foundation get established. He was a member of Siouxland Lion’s Club where he held various leadership roles.
Don enjoyed repairing clocks, lawn mowers, tractors and following sports.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, daughters, Sharon Daw and Michele Rosenberg, grandsons, Michael and Christopher Daw, sister, Garnita Burgeson and niece, Karen Wood and family, nephews, Brad Burgeson and family, Craig Rosenberg, Mark Rosenberg and family and sister-in-law, Dorothy Rosenberg.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Della; brother, Daryl and nephew, Curtis Rosenberg; brothers-in-law, Elroy Burgeson and Robert McCain; in laws, Evelyn and Harrison McCain.
