Willetta was born January 22, 1914 in Moody county on a farm near Colman, SD to Henry & Emma (Joens) Lohrmann. She attended county school & then worked as a waitress. She married Edward Jewett on January 8, 1948 at Clarinda, IA. They owned the Cozy Bar in Flandreau until 1955 when they moved to Colman where they operated the Standard Gas Station. In 1959 they moved to Loveland, CO, where she worked as a clerk in a grocery store. They moved back to Flandreau in 1980 & Willetta worked at the Corner Cafe until retiring. Her husband preceded her in death on June 9, 1996, and she continued to live in Flandreau. She became a resident at Riverview Manor in November 2004. She enjoyed playing bingo & cards & participating in the Jewett Reunions.
Willetta is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline (Dale) Riffel, Flandreau; 2 grandsons, James (Sumi); Charles (Amy); a granddaughter, Heather; a brother, Virtus (Ruth) Lohrman, Puyallup, WA; and a sister-in-law, Lois Lohrman, Madison, SD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her parents, 3 brothers, & 3 sisters.
