Marlin was born on May 25, 1929 on a farm by Humboldt, SD to Clinton and Verda (Ingalls) Williams. He married Marge Nugent on September 13, 1952. She preceded him in death in 1980. He married Darlene Sterling at Madison on November 27, 1986.

He grew up on a farm by Buffalo Trading Post and graduated from Humboldt High School. He served in the US Army in Alaska during the Korean War. After the service he returned to farming until he moved to Madison in 1983. He worked at Lake Herman Auto, as a custodian at Madison High School and did lawn care at Bethel Home. He was a member of the Colton American Legion. He enjoyed square dancing.

Marlin Williams, age 85, died at Bethel Lutheran Home on October 24, 2014

He is survived by his wife - Darlene of Independence, MO. One son - Kenneth (Julie) of Colton and Donna Williams of Sioux Falls. Three step sons - Rick (Vicki) Sterling and Paul (Malinda) Sterling both of Rapid City. Bruce (Linda) Sterling of Blue Springs. MO and one step-daughter - Barb Delprado of Coeur d’Alene, ID. 4 grandchildren and 13 step grandchildren. One brother - Earl (Shirley) Williams of Santa Maria, CA and one sister - Verdonna (Ron) Dobbs of Spicer, MN. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister - Lois Walker.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at St Jacob Lutheran Church, Colton, SD with burial in Bethany Cemetery, Colton, SD.∼Marlin Williams, age 85, died at Bethel Lutheran Home on October 24, 2014.He was born on May 25, 1929 on a farm by Humboldt, SD to Clinton and Verda (Ingalls) Williams.
