Death of Mrs. Nels Sather Last Friday

Was 73 Years Old, Had Been Resident of Community Nearly 47 Years; Funeral Monday

Mrs. Helen Sather, wife of Nels Sather, died at her home in Dell Rapids at 5:30 Friday morning, March 4th, at the age of 73 years, 1 month, and 22 days.

Mrs. Sather was born January 10, 1854, at Bynesseth, Norway. She came to America in May 1880 making her resident in Ishpeming, Michigan, where she was united in marriage to Nels N. Sather February 4th, 1882. They moved to Dakota in April 1885 residing east of Dell Rapids. In the fall of 1906 they moved to Dell Rapids and have made this their home ever since.

Mrs. Sather had been an invalid for many years, being confined to her bed continuously since July 1926. A complication of diseases in her weakened condition caused her death.

Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her loss her two sons, Martin O. of Luverne, Minn., and Carl G. of Madison, S.D. and one daughter Mrs. A.F Harders, who has care for her constantly during her long illness. One son, Louis, preceded her in death on Nov 20, 1907. She also leaves three grandchildren, one brother, Lars, three sisters, Margaret, Karen and Randi all living in Norway, and one sister, Mrs. A.S. Braa of Coopestown, N.D.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at St. Peters Lutheran church of which se was a member. Interment was in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.
