Death of Former Dell Rapids Woman

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon in the Presbyterian Church for Miss Minnie Richter, who died at the home of her nephew, August Richter, in Selma, Calif., on the 14th of August. Rev. Roy L. Palmerton preached the sermon in the absence of the regular pastor, Rev. George O. Long. Miss Richter was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Miss Minnie A. Richter was born 81 years ago in July in Bitterfield, Germany. When a year old her parents brought her to the United States. She had at that time two brothers, one older than she and one younger (one being William, buried in the Dell Rapids Cemetery). They moved to Freeport, Ill., where they lived for many years. Later she moved to Adeline, Ill., and in 1902 she came to Dell Rapids to make her home with her brother, the late, Wm. Richter. In 1923 they moved to Selma, where Mr. Richter died in Jun 1933. Since that time she has lived with the nephew.

There are no members of her immediate family living. She leaves one niece, Mrs. M.E. Wicks, Dell Rapids, four nephews, August, Selma, Calif., Dr. E.H. Richter, Hunter, N.D., Robert, who had just left for the state of Washington; a few hours before the telegram was received telling of his aunt's death; a C. Richter of Dell Rapids.
