Marlys F Hey, 53, of Dell Rapids, died Thursday, Feb 9, 1995, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls after a long illness. Marlys Hey was born on November 28, 1941, in Trent, the daughter of Erwin and Agnes Hey. Marlys grew up and attended schools in Sioux Falls, SD, Baltic, SD and in Dell Rapids, SD, graduating in 1959 from St. Mary's High School in Dell Rapids. She worked for Dells Cafe for seven years. In August of 1966 she started working for K-Mart South in Sioux Falls, SD as a bookkeeper. Her health forced her to retire in 1991 after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Society in Dell Rapids, SD. Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter: Mrs. David (Lori) Waldner of Sioux Falls; her mother: Agnes Hey of Dell Rapids; her sister: Mrs. Mike (Bernadette) Holmes of Dell Rapids; one brother: Tony of Pant City Florida; three nephews and one niece. Marlys was preceded in death by her father Erwin Hey. Visitation was held at 2 PM Friday February 10, 1995. The funeral mass was held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 11, 1995, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Dell Rapids with Father Hal Barber as celebrant. Interment was held in St Mary Cemetery. Casket bearers were Jim Holmes, Steve Holmes, Frank Even, Kory Klinkel, David Poss and Lloyd Lunde. Honorary casket bearers were LaVonne Christians, Norma Robinson, Marlys Bultje, Sheila Skatvold, Ardis Varns, Doris Westerman, Shirley Moline and Sarah Thompson.
