He was united in marriage in 1889 to Miss Zaida Richardson of Dell Rapids. They resided on a farm north of Dell Rapids for a couple years, moving into town in 1900, where he had since made his home. They were the parents of three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Cobb of Dell Rapids; Mrs. Irene Lewis, Sioux Falls; Mrs. Juanita Wendt of Downey, California.

Mr. Mallory was a kindly man liked by everyone who knew him. He had held various positions during his lifetime, at one time being the editor of the Clear Lake weekly newspaper. He liked woodcraft and was capable of turning out the finest kind of work. In spite of a handicap by loosing an arm in a hunting accident many years ago, he continued his work and completed the beautiful home of his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Cobb in Dell Rapids. He also liked horticultural work and for several years was custodian of the Dell Rapids Park, and took great delight in keeping the building and ground in beautiful condition.

He had many friends who will miss his always cheerful greetings.
