Mr. and Mrs. John (Julia) Heasley donated the first acre of land for the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in 1882. This cemetery is located approximately 1 and 1/12 miles south west of the present one. It is located approximately towards the west center of Section 23, Spink Township, Union County, South Dakota, USA with no public access.
Mr. and Mrs. John Welch donated the land for the current Pleasant Hill cemetery and the chapel grounds in 1904. Location Section 13 Spink Township, Union County, South Dakota
Directions: Approximately 1 and ½ miles North of South Dakota Highway 48 on 476th Avenue.
Most of the graves were moved to the new/current location in 1925. This is a listing of the graves that remain in the Old/First Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
