Edd P. Aker rites Set for Thrusday
Colton, S.D., - March 6 – Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Lutheran Church here for Edd P. Aker,84, a resident of South Dakota for 67 years, 45 of which were spent in the Colton vicinity, died Sunday at the Bethesda Home at Beresford., SD.
Mr. Aker was born December 16, 1860 in Norway, and came to the United States when 7 years old. He lived in Illinois and Cresco, Ia., for 10 years before settling on a farm near Howard, S.D. in 1878. He was married to Martha Tollefson in 1882.
Since his retirement from farming in 1919 he lived in Colton until October when he and his wife entered the Bethesda home. Mrs. Aker died on January 29 this year. There were no children.
