William Norman
(December 30, 1923 - March 24, 2008)
William "Bill" Norman, 84 0f Brandon died suddenly after a short illness on March 24, 2008 at Avera McKennan Hospital.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00PM (Noon) Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Garretson. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, Garretson. Visitation will begin one hour before the service.
William was born December 30, 1923 to parents Henry and Minnie (Madison) Norman at Lismore, Minnesota. After attending school in Adrian, Minnesota, Bill worked as a farm-hand in North Dakota, South Dakota and Texas for most of his life. After retirement he worked part-time for Norwest Bank in Sioux Falls and finally retired from the Brandon Steak House.
He is survived by a brother, Vernon (Bette) Norman, Bloomington, Minnesota; sisters, Opal (John) Cockriel, Hastings, Minnesota; Bernus (Warren) Lee, Arlington, South Dakota; Deanna (Ladel) Wilson, Mandan, North Dakota; step daughters, Vicky Townsend and Robin Sutherland, both of Sioux Falls. He will be greatly missed by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, as well as scores of friends and neighbors. Everyone who knew Bill remembers him as a gentle and kind soul.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry; his mother, Minnie Earl; brother, Henry; two infant siblings and a very special friend, Irene Parish.
