Robert “Bob” Michael Fritz, son of Leland and Sharon (Lee) Fritz was born November 16, 1969 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Bob was raised in Sioux Falls and Brandon, SD and graduated from Brandon Valley High School in 1988. In his youth and school years, Bob developed a passion for playing hockey. A passion that continued playing in many adult leagues and spending many years working the rinks as a referee.

Bob was united in marriage with his high school sweetheart, Jennifer Risty, on September 23, 1989 in Sioux Falls, SD. Bob and Jenny were blessed with two children, Austin and Ashley. The family made their home on an acreage near Hartford, SD.

Bob continued his education at Nettleton College before attending and graduating from Oklahoma Farriers College in 1993. Bob worked as a self-employed Farrier (Horseshoer/Blacksmith) full time until 2001. Bob then began working as a Corrections Officer at the Minnehaha County Jail while continuing to work part-time as a farrier. On April 1, 2007, Bob found his calling, working for the Department of Homeland Security as an Immigration Enforcement Agent then transferring to a Deportation Officer. Bob loved working for the DHS and traveled the world as a Deportation Officer; especially working in Germany, home of his favorite tattoo artist and of course, the beer.

Bob had many hobbies throughout his life, from fishing, boating, water skiing, hunting, trap-shooting, camping, horseback riding, team penning and sorting, to riding his Indian Motorcycle; especially the many cross-country trips with Jenny and his friends. He also enjoyed a good cigar and a whiskey while sitting on his front porch. Above all, Bob loved spending time with his family, beloved dogs, Ivan (the Rottweiler) and Marley (the German Shepherd), his grand dogs, Lexi and June, taking children and grandchildren camping and fishing (owning a permanent camping spot in Chamberlain) and hosting the annual Fritz Blitz. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Jenny Fritz, Hartford, SD; two children, Austin Fritz, Hartford, SD and Ashley Fritz, Letcher, SD; three grandchildren, Charlotte, Nora and Griffin Fritz; sister-in-law, Susan Fritz, Brandon, SD; two nieces, MecKenzie (AJ) Bunker, Renner, SD and Shelby (James) Cronk, Armstrong, IA; in-laws, Ron and Nancy Risty, Brandon, SD; brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Risty, and his daughters, Abby and Ericka Risty all of Brandon, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
