Her family will be present to greet friends for visitation on Monday, April 24, 2023 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Judy was born on May 30, 1949 in Winner, SD to Oscar and Lela B. (Hopkins) Papke. She was raised on a farm south of Winner and attended country school before graduating from Winner High School in 1967. Judy continued her education at Northern State where she earned her teaching certificate and met and fell in love with Ronald Miklos. Following college, Judy taught country school near Winner for a few years.

Judy and Ronald were united in marriage on October 24, 1970 in Winner, SD. The couple first lived in Mitchell, SD before making their home in Sioux Falls, SD. From this union, Judy was blessed with the births of her two daughters, Kristin and Keri.

While making her home in Sioux Falls, Judy parlayed her caregiving nature and love of children to operating an in-home daycare for many years. She then worked at JoAnn Fabric and Crafts until spending the last twelve years of her career working for the Sioux Falls School District as a teacher’s aide at Longfellow Elementary.

Judy enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting and in recent years making custom Christmas Cards for her family. Above all, Judy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two daughters, Kristin Crawford and her husband, Jason of Sioux Falls, SD and Keri Hepner and her husband, Chad of Portland, OR; three grandchildren, Joshua Hepner, Rylan Hepner and Avery Hepner; two sisters, Merva Cobb and her husband, Phil of Choctaw, OK and Peggy Bettcher of Stockton, CA; two brothers, Bill Papke and his wife, Donna of Rapid City, SD and Larry Papke and his wife, Ruthellen of Sacramento, CA; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Lela Papke; three sisters, Neva Papke, Janis Papke and Avis Hansen; and two brothers-in-laws, Darrell Bettcher and Art Hansen.
