Dies at 61

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Calvary Cathedral for George Riley Hahn, 61, of 1610 S. Duluth Ave., pioneer radio executive of this area.

Mr. Hahn died in a local hospital Friday following a brief illness.

He was born Dec. 2, 1905, at Hastings, Neb., but spent most of his life in Sioux Falls. He attended Washington High School and the University of Minnesota. He was an orchestra violinist at one time.

The former vice president of the Sioux Falls Broadcasting Association, Inc., he was appointed general manager of radio station KSOO in 1946.

More recently, he was a real estate developer, self-employed and on the board of directors of Industrial Development and Expansion Agency. He was a member of the executive board of trustees of Sioux Falls College and a past potentate of El Riad Shrine.

He married Ruth Henkin on April 1, 1948.

Surviving are his widow; two sons, George Henkin Hahn and Richard Henkin Hahn, and a daughter, Barbara Ruth Hahn, all of Sioux Falls, and a sister, Bernice Martha Hahn, Manila, Philippine, Islands.

Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Miller Funeral Home.
