Rebecca Brinkman
January 14, 1992 - April 23, 2022

Rebecca Brinkman, 30, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2022, at her home in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls. Visitation with family present to greet friends will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Rebecca Brinkman was born January 14, 1992, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to her parents, James and Stacy Schmidt. Thirty-three minutes later, her twin sister, Rachael was born and they instantly became built in best friends for life. Rebecca has lived in Sioux Falls her entire life. She worked at Burger King for 14 years and was a manager there. Her last employment has been with La Quinta Inn and Suites where her delightful personality made guests feel welcomed and cared for. Rebecca met her best friend and love of her life, Austin Inouye and January 4, 2013, and they have been blessed with two beautiful little boys, Noah and Ness.

She was never far from her cell phone. Some of her favorite past times were playing games or gossiping with her mother. She had a deep love of the color yellow (which probably drove her love of yellow laffy taffy) and elephants. Her closet and most of Austin’s free storage space would attest to her love of shopping for clothes and shoes. Her soul radiated warmth and love to all and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Austin Inouye of Sioux Falls; her boys, Noah and Ness of Sioux Falls; parents, James and Stacy Schmidt of Harrisburg; twin sister, Rachael (Matt) Hisel of Harrisburg; brothers, James Schmidt Jr. and Tristan (Maliyah Shaw) Schmidt all of Sioux Falls; father, Husayn (Heather) Hetts of Lady Smith, WI; siblings, Zarah & Kenish Harrison of Sioux Falls, Khalil Hesvick of Sioux Falls, Arialle, Darious, Davin, Kammy, and Gabby Hetts of Horn Lake, MS; grandparents, Mary Johnson of Sioux Falls, Linda Hilla of Sioux Falls, Tony “Tunes” Brinkman of Baltic, SD, and Gary Hetts of Lady Smith, WI; parents-in-law, Beth Inouye of Sioux Falls and Mike Inouye of Portland, OR; and a host of loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Milton Johnson and James Hilla; and grandmother, Mary Hetts.
