Jack J. Hooker
September 2, 1950 – June 15, 2022
Jack J. Hooker passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at his home in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Jack was 71.
Jack James Hooker was born on September 2, 1950 in Lemmon, South Dakota to Mary and AC Hooker. He attended School in Watauga, South Dakota. Jack spent his early years helping his dad and brothers on the family ranch in Watauga, South Dakota.
On June 19, 1987, Jack was united in marriage to Elizabeth Cummins in Lemmon, South Dakota. They divorced in 2004, but remained friends. They had four girls Autumn, Sunshine, Samantha, and Brenda Jo.
The family moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1992 by a truck and horse trailer. He started at Gage Brothers Concrete in 2000 and retired from there in 2016. He enjoyed his retirement by working on his Astro van and truck. He also spent a lot of his free time with his children and grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared his life are his children, Autumn, Sunshine, and Samantha; grandchildren, Jayla Jo, Jymarion, Jayden, Kavarion, Lazerick Jr, and Blake; ex-wife, Elizabeth; Special children he called his, Fierra and Nikki, and their kids were also loved as grandkids; sisters, Mary Jane, Barb Cheryl, and Kay (Joe); brothers, Tom (Joyce) and Wade (Mary); and many nieces and nephews.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Alyne and Mary Hooker; mother-in-law Lila Cummins; brother Mike; daughter Brenda Jo; and two of his grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 20, 2022, with family present 1 hour prior to service, at Miller Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD.
