Gregory A. Oleson
March 6, 1959 - October 12, 2021

Gregory Alan Oleson was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, March 6, 1959 where he grew up, attended public schools and later joined the workforce. He lost his battle with cancer while at Sanford Ava's House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on October 12, 2021.

Funeral Service 11 am Tuesday, October 19, 2021, and visitation with family present will be held 5:00 - 7:00 pm Monday evening both at Miller Westside Chapel, 6200 W. 41st Street, Sioux Falls, SD. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery.

Greg was loved by many, and will be missed by all. He was a humble and private man of few words who didn't like to be the center of attention. But those who knew him best knew he was a soft hearted and kind man, always putting others first.

Greg worked hard for everything he had and had an incredible work ethic. He worked in an unforgiving trade doing construction and concrete finishing all his life, most recently with Heartland Construction, Inc. He loved being outside in the summer heat enjoying the comradery of the guys working next to him. He never set out to be rich or famous, or to have the finer things in life; he found pleasure in the simple things.

He loved his family, and his friends that became family. He enjoyed golfing in the summer and throwing darts in the winter. He loved, Mt. Dew and watching sports of any kind, but especially the Vikings. But most of all, he loved his son Tylor and his faithful and constant companion, his beloved dog DooWah.

Greg is preceded in death by his mother Joyce Mullinix, uncle Francis "Wes" Westendorf, and the mother of his son, Laurie Koepp. He is survived by his son Tylor Koepp (Haley), with a grandson, Cash Douglas, on the way; his brother Jeff (Debi) Oleson and sister Kathy Zemke; his nieces, Sarah Oleson and Elisha (Ryan) Revell both of Sioux Falls; aunt Lucy Gilbertson of Sioux Falls, and uncle Larry Westendorf of Chesterfield, MO; along with countless cousins all over the country.

We are blessed to call him son, brother, father, uncle and friend. Through our grief we find comfort in knowing Greg found salvation prior to his passing and that he has been freed of pain and suffering. We rejoice in the knowledge he has been reunited with our loved ones in heaven.

He will wipe every tear from their eye and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying for pain. All these things are gone forever.
- Revelations 21:4
