Last Rites Held June For Clifford A. Brude
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon for Clifford Brude who passed away Tuesday, June 5th at a Sioux Falls Hospital, the result of an automobile accident occurring May 23rd. Services were held at the Lutheran Church in Dell Rapids, conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. Elmer Moe. Soloist accompanied at the organ by Miss Madeline Lerdal, was Mrs. Arnold Wildermuth. Burial was in the East Nidaros Cemetery, with military rites at the graveside by members of the Geo. A. Fitzgerald Post and Veterans of Foreign Wars. The Hermanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Clifford Arnold Brude was born January 2, 1925 at Dell Rapids. He was baptized February 8, 1925 and confirmed May 14, 1939 by Rev. H. J. Myrwang.
He entered the service March 3, 1943 and was stationed in the European theater of operations for three years.
On Oct. 5, 1950 he entered the Korean War and was discharged on August 23, 1951.
He spent all his life in the vicinity with the exception of the years he sent in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his father Alfred Brude and his survived by his mother Mrs. Clara Brude, two brothers, J. B. Percy Brude, Sioux Falls, S.D. and Kenneth A. Brude, Dell Rapids, four nieces, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
