SGT. F. H. FARR, Co. K., 1st WIS. INF.
served in the Civil War, being one of the first in Wisconsin to sign up in Sept. 1861. Freeman was wounded (shot through the jaw when Wheeler's Cavalry attacked a train he was on) at the Battle of Stones River on Dec. 31, 1862, taken prisoner and sent home 3 months later when he had partially healed. Freeman homesteaded in Parker, in 1878, and died there Jan. 17, 1903.
