Death Summons C.A. Adamson

Had Been a Resident of This Vicinity For Many Years; Funeral Held Saturday Afternoon

Charles A. Adamson, father of Sheriff Seth Adamson, passed away at his home seven miles east of Baltic early Wednesday morning, April 24th, following an illness of a few days, suffering from the effects of a paralytic stroke.

He had suffered only minor illnesses in the past eight years, but has been active throughout his life. He was ill only six days preceding his death.

Mr. Adamson was well known in the Dell Rapids vicinity as he had lived near here the greater part of the time for the past 34 years. He came here in 1906 and purchased a fine farm a mile east and two miles north of Dell Rapids, just across the line in Moody County. He lived here for many years and had a highly developed farm when he sold out a few years ago.

The deceased was born at Skaraborg, Sweden, August 16th, 1859. He came to this country when a young man, settling near Luverne, Minn. He was married June 11, 1888, at Luverne to Miss Tilda Evans. They resided in that neighborhood until 1897, when they moved to Wilmar, Minn., from which place they came to Dell Rapids. Mr. Adamson was past eighty years of age. He died on his father's birthday anniversary.

He leaves his wife, Tilda, seven daughters, Mrs. Arthur Halvorson, Willmar, Minn.; Mrs. Harry Munk, Dell Rapids; Mrs. E. Aleridge, Sidney, Montana; Mrs. D.O. Hunter, Chicago; Mrs. Bernard Megaard, Sherman; Evelyn and Alpha of Chicago; four sons, Seth of Sioux Falls, Louie, Renner; Kermit, Minneapolis and George who lives at home. He also leaves a sister, Minnie in Norway; two brothers, Peter of Portland, Oregon and Frank of Staples, Minn., ten grandchildren, besides more distant relatives.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church in Dell Rapids conducted by the pastor, Rev. Ole M. Odland on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Burial was n the Dell Rapids Cemetery. Arrangements were in charge of the Hermanson Funeral Home.

The pallbearers were: John and David Carlson of Luverne; H. Henderson of Hardwick, Minn.; A.C. Fink of Sioux Falls; Henry Evans of Dell Rapids and Bennie Hammer of Sherman.
