Richard Warren Oesterling was born on June 25, 1921 at Butler, PA, the son of Warren L. and Mary (Kemp) Oesterling. He grew up and attended school there graduating from Butler High School. Richard served in the United States Army Air Corps overseas during World War II as a radar technician. On Aug. 12, 1941 he was united in marriage to M. Irene Landgraf at Wellsburg, West Virginia. He lived in various parts of the eastern United States where he worked as a pipe fitter in the petroleum industry. Richard had lived in Worthing for the past 23 years. He wintered in Arizona with his son Russ. Richard was a member of the Worthing American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an accomplished woodworker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marion Cramer; a grandson, Jason Oesterling; and a granddaughter, Katrina Drew. Grateful for having shared his life are his five children: Cindy Drew and her husband Dale of Sioux Falls, Edward Oesterling of Emery, Tim Oesterling and his wife Cora of Mitchell, Russ Oesterling and his wife Janet of Pima, AZ and Deny Oesterling and his wife JoAnne of Tacoma, WA; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; siblings: Madaline Golec and Jack Oesterling both of Butler, PA as well as other relatives and friends.
