Frank J. Huwe, 95, passed away at the Dell Rapids Community Hospital on Friday, April 3, 1987. Frank was born on April 9, 1891 at Hull Iowa, the son of Bernard and Elizabeth Huwe. As a child he lived with his family in Remsen, Iowa are until 1910 when he moved to Dell Rapids. He marred Betty Anderson in 1915. She passed away in 1916. Frank then married Rose Trenkamp on Feb 7, 1917. The couple lived on a farm west of Dell Rapids for over 60 years. Frank was a farmer and carpenter by trade. He was also well known for his steam engine and threshing crew. His wife Rose died in 1977. Frank was a former county supervisor for Minnehaha County, Burk Township, and a member of St. Joseph the Workman Huntimer Church for over 70 years. He is survived by one son Joe, Dell Rapids; two brothers: Albert, Dell Rapids; and Tony, Dell Rapids; one sister, Mary Sylliaasen, Yankton; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers, one sister, one son and two daughters. Mass of the Resurrection was held Monday, April 6, 1987 at Joseph the Workman Church in Huntimer, with Father Rucker acting as celebrant. Virginia Huwe player the ........ the St. Joseph the Workman. Acting as casket bearers were .... Huwe, Chuck Huwe, Dale... Gerald Huewe, Roger Stan.... David Grieshop. A Rosary was held for.... the church on Sunday evening ... PM. Visitation was at the Funeral Home on Sunday.... was in the church cemetery.
