Eugene Page Dies
At the Age of 80
Eugene J. Page passed away at his home in Dell Rapids on September 15, 1942, as a result of paralytic stroke suffered twelve days before. At his bedside at the time of his death were his wife, and their son Ordell and his wife.
Mr. Page was born at Mantoreville, Dodge County, Minn., March 4, 1862. He came to Dell Rapids territory in 1879 and homesteaded in what is now Moody County. Colman was their nearest town and has resided in this community continuously except for three years spent in Florida.
On June 3, 1896, he was married to Emma Humphrey. To them were born nine children. The sons are Leo, Peter, Ordell and Eugene, Jr., and the daughters are: Mrs. Ray Farrand, Mrs. Olaf Fosoy, Mrs. Joe Dubbelde and Miss. Ruby Page. There is also 23 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one daughter, Ruth.
The funeral will be held Friday, September 18, at the Hermanson Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. in charge of Rev. O.A. Enersen, of the Baptist Church.
Interment will be in the family lot in the Dell Rapids Cemetery.
