Sioux Falls: Julie Ann Wickre, 42, died Friday, May 7, 2010, at Sanford Medical Center.
She was born in Stanley, N.D., and was an enrolled member of the Mandan-Arikara Native American tribe.
She leaves behind her children, Yolanda Wastell of Sioux Falls; Andrew Wickre, Carrie Wickre, and their father, Cory Christopherson, of Sioux Falls; and grandchildren Marley Marie Joncas, Ember Fay Wickre, and one grandchild on the way.
She is also survived by her mother, Linda Mayer, and her stepfather, Warren Mayer, Chelsea, Mich.; brother, Jay Wickre, Kennewick, Wash.; grandmother, Margaret Wickre, Sioux Falls; special friend, Ron Anderson; and loving aunts and uncles.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Jerry Wickre.
Her family will remember happy days when Julie was a youth on the Aberdeen Swim Club team, and participated in track and gymnastics in Madison, S.D. Her many pets over the years brought her much joy. Though plagued with illness much of her life, she continued to work hard at Morrell's, at Midland Life, and most recently, at Food and Fuel Station.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the Sioux Falls Humane Society.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. with the family present from 3-7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2010, at Miller Funeral Home, 13th and Main.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the Miller Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Hills of Rest Memorial Park.
