William F. Stake (Bill) a native of Colorado was born in Proctor, Colorado on Aug. 28, 1920 to Fred and Marguerite Stake. He graduated from Proctor High School in 1937 and later served in the US Army Air Corp. He married Dorothy Swedzinski on July 18, 1946 in Taunton, Minnesota. He owned and operated Stake Construction Co. at sites throughout the Midwest, including 14 states from Canada to Mexico. They moved their construction headquarters and made their home in Lennox since 1956. Bill was a member of Saint Mary Magdalen's Catholic Church in Lennox. Grateful for having the joy of sharing his life are his wife of 58 years, Dorothy, and his four children: Timothy Stake of Sioux Falls; Catherine Stake Dean of Canal Fulton, OH; Mary Stake Van Bockern of Sioux Falls; Patrice Stake Mingo of Seabrook, TX; and his seven grandchildren-Jamie, Heather and Zech and Miriam Stake of Sioux Falls; Matthew and Maggie Van Bockern of Sioux Falls; Abby Thisler of Houston TX and one great-grandson, Michael Donovan Stake, Sioux Falls. Other family members include sisters and brothers: Opal Trostel of Fort Collins. CO; Oral Stake, Kingfisher OK; Fay Stake, Aurora, CO; Esther Jane Pagnotta, Pueblo, CO; his aunt Crystal Lynch, San Marcos, TX and his many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by daughter Julle Anne Stake and grand daughter Catherine Mary Van Bockern.
