Henry Zimmerle Dies
Funeral servcies for Henry Zimmerle, Peever Farmer, were held at the Lutheran Church Monday at 1 o’clock p.m., with Rev. Jacob Askeland in charge. Special music consisted of two solos by Clayton Van Tassell, “The Old Rugged Cross, ‘ and “Lead Me Home.”
Pallbearers were Andrew Halland, Alfred Landmark, Louis Nigg, Oscar Sundheim and Rudolph Horstman.
Mr. Zimmerle was born in Nokomis, Illinois in 1882, coming to Salem, S.D. , in 1892. He was married to Anna Probst of Beresford, in 1905. They had two children, Esther and Fred. Mrs. Zimmerle died in 1921, and Mrs. Zimmerle and chidlren moved to Montediveo the next year, and lived there unitl in 1931, when they returned to South Daktoa. Seven years ago, Mr. Zimmerle and Esther bought a farm a mile east of town, where they have since lived. Mr. Zimmerle was an accomplished violinist, and his chief interests were his music and better farming methods.
Survivors beside his son and daughter and one brother, Fred of Motley, Minn., and two granddaughters, Diane and Karen of Duluth, Minn. His son, daughter and uncle were present at the funeral and many friends from Milbank, besides his Peever friends.
