James Bernard Frantzen
(December 2, 1960 - August 11, 2007)
James "Jim" Bernard Frantzen was born on December 2, 1960 to Bernard and Dorothy (Heinemann) Frantzen. He grew up and attended school in Dell Rapids. He graduated St. Mary High School in 1979. After high school, Jim began working for T & R electric in Colman. He married Ronda Alberts on October 2, 1983. The couple had two sons. Poor health forced Jim to retire in 2003.
All those that knew and loved Jim remember him as "Franny". The loving father, avid bowler, and all around good guy wo loved fast cars, rock n roll, and the Minnesota Vikings.
Jim passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Sanford Health after a twenty-six year battle with kidney disease.
Grateful for having shared his life are his two sons, Tyler of Harrisburg, and Ryan of Dell Rapids; his grandson, David; his mother, Dorothy Frantzen of Dell Rapids; his sisters, Cathy Frantzen of Dell Rapids and Susan (Tim) Peterson of Sioux Falls; his nephews, Eric Halbieb, Jack and Tate Peterson and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Bernard and his infant sister, Sarah.
Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Dell Rapids. Interment will be in the St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Kahler Funeral Home. The Christian Wake Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
