Funeral Services Held For R.V. Todd Saturday

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon for R.V. Todd, who passed away at a Sioux Falls Hospital early Thursday morning where he had undergone surgery a few days previous. Rev. O.M. Odland conducted the services at the Lutheran church in Dell Rapids. Interment was in the Dell Rapids cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Hermanson Funeral Service.

Mrs. O.M. Odland, soloist, accompanied by Miss Madeline Lerdahl, sand "Abide With Me," and "Softly and Tenderly," Pallbearers were Kenneth Peterson, Herb Staudenmaier, Henry Crisp, Gene Gannon and Ed Borah.

Mr. Todd's untimely death was keenly felt in the community, and the generous floral offerings and memorial gifts attested his many friendships and popularity.

"R.V." came to Dell Rapids several years ago, and for a few years operated the Rock Garden café. When the Dell Rapids Pavilion was erected he was made manager, and also chairman of the park committee. He has handled the affairs of his duties in a very efficient manner, and his place will be difficult to fill.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. R.V. Todd, sr., born July 17, 1914 at Louisiana, Mo. He was married to Jean Paulson Toulson of Dell Rapids in 1947, and is survived by his widow and one son, Rowland by a former marriage, a step daughter, Linda, his parents and a host of friends in this community.

Funeral services were attended by a large number from out f town, including his parents, and Lt. Col. Gordon Paulson, of Commerce, Texas.
