Russell Lavern Hubner was born June 12, 1923, at Avon, SD, to Alex and Rosa (Schmidt) Hubner. He died October 26, 1992, at St. Michael's Hospital in Tyndall. Russell had attained the age of 69 years, four months, and 14 days. Russell attended Myrtle Rural School and Avon High School. He served in the U. S. Army for three and a half years, three of which were in Germany. After returning from the service Russell was employed by Schuh Electric as an electrician. He farmed north of Avon for a number of years and also did custom work and various other jobs. Russell married Margaret Voigt on September 1, 1950, at the Baptist Church parsonage in Avon by Rev. Geisler. Russll accepted the Lord as his Savior and was baptized by Rev. James DeLoach on December 31, 1952. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church until his death. Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Margaret; brother, Calvin; two sisters: Lois Schaefer and Cora Raysby, all of Avon, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Russell was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

MARGARET DIED ON WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN RUSS & MARGARET'S 50th ANNIVERSARY, September 1, 2000. They were a sweet, loving couple.
