Matthew Howard Wilka
December 24, 1968 - August 9, 2021
Matthew Wilka, 52, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away from lung issues on Monday, August 9, 2021, at the Sanford Medical Center.
Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Miller Funeral Home Downtown, 507 South Main Avenue. Funeral services will be held 1 pm on Friday, August 13, 2021, at the Miller Funeral Home Downtown Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Matthew Howard Wilka, son of Howard and Eunice (Searles) Wilka, was born on December 24, 1968, in Sioux Falls, SD. He grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1987. After working various jobs began a career at Hutchinson Technology. He quickly advanced positions from Production Worker to Process Specialist to Electrical Maintenance Technician. He took a position with Midwestern Mechanical and then with Ferguson International where he was currently working as an Inside Salesman.
Matthew was a quiet and humble soul that had a passion for his Harley Davidson Motorcycles. He enjoyed reading, computers, and rock and roll music. He was a member of a Hog Group and was always talking hockey. He was extremely knowledgeable and was truly one of the “Good Guys”.
Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter Courtney Johnson and her husband Andrew, Sioux Falls, SD; brother Russell Wilka and his wife Carol, Owensville, MO; sisters Debbie Wilka, Duluth, GA, Terri Fiferlick and her husband Gene, Sioux Falls, SD; partner Maria Binder, Sioux Falls, SD; close friends Angel Leedy, Sioux Falls, SD; several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Matthew was preceded in death by his parents.
