Fred Wallenberg
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Eastside Lutheran Church for Fred. J Wallenberg, 73, of 601 N. Nesmith Ave, who died Tuesday at a Sioux Falls hospital.
Mr. Wallenberg was born April 18, 1896, at Mapelton, Minnesota. He married Jeannete Bjerk March 10, 1926 at De Smet. In 1900, Mr. Wallenberg moved to Beaver Creek, Minnesota; in 1935 they moved to Sioux Falls where he worked for the John Morrell and Co. until retiring in May 1961.
Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Elroy Olson and Mrs. Marlin Solberg, both of Sioux Falls; a son, Ronald, Sioux Falls; a brother, August, Sioux Falls; three sisters, Mrs. William Brannan, Sioux Falls, Mrs. Dillard Harvil, Long Beach, California, and Mrs. Clyde Bryan, Maywood, California; 15 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
